Hmmm....I'm right in the middle of the newborn madness so I feel like my brain is a bit mushy. I would say the thing that has saved me has been taking all the help I can get--from my hubby, mom, sisters, and friends. Especially now with a toddler, I have needed it!

My advice to all new moms out there is too have the birth and delivery YOU want, make it about you your SO and the new baby you are about to welcome. If you want an epi get one if you want to go all natural just know that YOU CAN DO IT :) And don't be afraid to make noise....just know in the end you are going to have that beautfiul little baby in your arms!

Oh and afterwards, get all the help you can and don't be afraid to ask for it!

If you can get someone to watch little one while you catch some Zzzz's do it :)

My best advice is similar to the others so far... Don't be afraid to accept help or even ask for help if you need it.

My advice is to enjoy it, they grow up so fast. Also, those first few weeks after delivery sleep when you can, do housework later.

Take all the help you can get! if someone offers to come stay or make a meal, whatever, take them up on it. And if someone asks how they can help, give them a job!

Make sure that you have someone to help you out afterwards. It is so nice to be able to have someone else clean and cook. You can always ask friends to help out or if you have family close around that is even better

The best delivery advice I have: go with the flow! I think it's great to have a birth plan ready, but things don't always go as planned, so take it one step at a time! Best newborn advice I have: sleep when you can! (I'm sure you know this already) but dishes and laundry can wait, nap if both your kiddos are napping!

I agree with don't be afraid to get help. Also, take your time, don't rush things. I rushed to get home and should have spend a little more time just relaxing and getting advice and help from the nurses at the hospital..esp when it came to breastfeeding.

Make sure you nap. I know it's very hard to do, but you have let everyone help out and if you get your rest, you will be a better mommy to your oldest too!

If you happened to have a csection (hopefully that won't be the case, but...), make sure to ask for a belly wrap. It will help support your incision after the fact. I didn't know about it and was in pain for a couple weeks until someone told me to get something to support the incision!

In delivery and life with a newborn do what you feel right, follow your instincts even if everyone else is telling you otherwise. I really regret listening to my nurse during my last delivery who told me my uterus was about to rupture resulting in my 3rd c-section. I later found out she lied to me and was just anti VBAC.
