Safety 1st: Complete Air Convertible Carseat

I'm all about car safety. I'm terrified of what can happen in a car wreck, and knowing that Caden is safe in my backseat really puts my mind at ease. So when Safety 1st offered to let me review their new Complete Air convertible carseat, I jumped at the chance!
About The Complete Air™ Convertible Car Seat" The Safety 1st® Complete Air™ Convertible Car Seat with Air Protect™ Side Impact Technology is perfect for infants rear-facing from 5-40 pounds and 19"-40" and toddlers forward-facing from 22-50 pounds and 34"-45".
  • Air Protect™ Revolutionary Side Impact Technology: Breakthrough system shields head and immediately reduces side impact forces through the precise release of air.

  • QuickFit™ Harness System adjusts harness height from the front in one easy step without uninstalling from the car.

  • Harness accommodates children up to 50 pounds.

  • One Click LATCH installation system allows for faster and easier installation when moving between vehicles.

  • 5-position adjustable headrest easily accommodates your growing child.

  • Removable cup holder.

  • MSRP $179.99 at Babies"R"Us, Target, Walmart, Sears, and other fine retailers. "
Our Thoughts
The carseat arrived within a few days in a HUGE box. I was immensly pleased when I took it out of the box and discovered that there was no assembly required (aside from a removable cupholder). Very easy when your 1 year old likes to help!

The Air Protect was also extremely easy to install in both our SUV and car. (we tried both!) When installing, you have two options. You can install using your cars seatbelt or with the Latch System. Being intemidated by the Latch System, I always opt for the seatbelt, but I did look at the Latch System and instructions and it's EXTREMELY easy. Just two clicks and your ready to go! It was also very easy to install using the seatbelt, just slip it through, tighten, and GO!

Also, make sure to adjust your childs 5-point harness according to their height and seat position before use! When rear-facing the shoulder strap should start below their shoulder height. When forward-facing, the shoulder strap should begin at or right above shoulder level. Please remember that all children under 20 lbs AND under 1 year of age should remain rear-facing!

I was a little worried that the side impact head shield would bother Caden's view of the outside world, causing him to pitch a fit. This did not prove a problem whatsoever. He was very content with what he could still see, and I felt safe having the extra protection in the event of a side impact accident!

All-in-all, I am very pleased with the Safety 1st® Complete Air™ Convertible Car Seat with Air Protect™ Side Impact Technology . It is extremely safe, easy on the eyes, and provides great protection for my little one. I highly recommend it to all parents!

when looking for a carseat, I am looking for the longest possible use or "bang for my buck." I like that this seat goes to 40lbs RF and has a deep seat which allows for more RF room!

When looking for a carseat I want one that is easy to install but also seems safe and secure. It can't be too complicated or I'm afraid of using it incorrectly, or someone else putting my child in there incorrectly if I'm not there...

The feature I look for in a car seat is that my son is comfortable in it. We tried several carseats before settling on an evenflo. The Safety first had just come out and was wayy out of my price range :(.

I love all the extra safety features of this car seat, but my main issue is finding a car seat that is big enough for my granddaughter. She is only 3 (not ready for just a booster) but very tall so none of the shoulder straps are high enough for her. This is a safety issue in and of itself. Thanks for the great review & Giveaway.

And Congrats on the new baby BOY due in October!

Safety is my #1 priority when choosing a seat...but it occurred to me that that isn't a feature :)

So I like to use the latch, it feels more secure. I like a secure harness with quality materials, generous padding, neck protection, head cradeling, easy to clean materials...ok that's all I can think of off the top of my head silenttributary(at)yahoo(dot)com
