WELCOME TO THE FLUFF BUTT EVENT!!!
My name is Cassidy.
I am a disposable diaper user.
My son, Caden, is 6 months old now
and we've gone through countless packages of disposables.
But that all will change soon
as I am making the switch to
CLOTH DIAPERS!
I am a disposable diaper user.
My son, Caden, is 6 months old now
and we've gone through countless packages of disposables.
But that all will change soon
as I am making the switch to
CLOTH DIAPERS!
My dear bloggy /In Real Life friend, Holly (theclothdiaperexperiment.com) has inspired me to do what she has done. To switch a baby, that is already here, from easy peasy disposables to cloth diapers. She says it's easy and fun, she even loves to do the cloth diapering laundry!
I wanted to give you all the opportunity to follow my switch, learn everything that I will, and to test it all out yourselves. You will find my "cloth diaper journal entries", how-to's (my own opinion ones... everyone does everything differently!), reviews, and giveaways! I even will meet with Fort Wayne's ONLY cloth diapering company, CuddleWuddle!!! How cool is that?!?!
So why did I switch?
A. Financial Reasons- Since having Caden I've become obsessed with our finances. I coupon, stockpile, anything to save money. This was the next step. They say that the average baby goes through over 7,000 diapers by the age of 3. At around .31 cents a diaper that is over $2,000! If you cloth diaper and use one size pocket diapers, you need about 36 diapers (according to For Baby With Love). At a little under $20 each that is only $752 ( including a Diaper Pail Liner, 30 Reusable Wipes and Travel Tote Bag)! Add in the estimated $252/year to wash 12 loads a month of diapers and that's almost less than half the cost of disposables!
B. Being "Green"- Did you know that the average disposable diaper takes somewhere between 250-500 years to decompose in a landfill? Being as we've only had them for around 50 years... the first disposable is still out there! I bet you also didn't know that there was a test done to see if we could recycle them. Turns out they were deemed unrecyclable. Last but not least... I definitely bet you were unaware that even when using disposables, you'r not suppose to "throw away" the poop. That's right. Even with disposables, you're suppose to plop the pooey in the toilet! So why not use Cloth Diapers!?!?
I've learned so much in the past two weeks as I have begun my journey,
and still have so much to find out!
and still have so much to find out!
So join me, learn as I learn. Who knows, maybe you'll be inspired too!
