FLUFF BUTT: CrAzY times

AH! It's been crazy around here the last couple of weeks! As I mentioned before, we moved last weekend. Into a smaller house. (We're building on... soon.) There's boxes and piles everywhere!

In the midst of all of this moving, Caden got his first diaper rash! I'm not quite sure what caused it. I had him in cloth diapers most of the time, but put a bit of bleach in one of the rinses for the first time ever... (I know... bad me.) He also was in sposies at my moms, and tried gdiapers inserts for the first time. I'm hoping it was the bleach rinse, as I went and striped the diapers yesterday. In the meantime I've been putting him in prefolds with two Bummis liners and lots of Desitin! (Your not suppose to use normal diaper rash creams with your cloth diapers, hence the use of liners.) Its working, the rash is almost gone!

Also, the house we moved into came with stackable washer and dryer. Well, the washer is broken so I'm using my mom's HE frontloaders until ours is fixed/or we buy a new one... which means I have to work out a whole new CD laundry routine! UGH.

Soooo does anyone have any HE Frontloader advice? Thanks in advance!!

FLUFF BUTT: Rockin Green Soap

One of the biggest challenges one faces when cloth diapering is getting your wash routine correct. You'd think it would be so easy, just throw the diapers in with some soap and go, right?!?!

WRONG! You have to consider different factors, and try, try, and try again, in order to find the right combination so that your diapers don't leak or STINK!!! (Factors such as washing machine, water type, diapers, ect.) Another thing you have to watch out for is diaper detergents! You can't use just ANY detergent! You have to look for ones that are enzyme and dye free, among other things.

So when I heard about Rockin Green Soap, a detergent MADE for cloth diapers, I knew I had to try it! I contacted Kim and she was awesome enough to send me a sample of Rockin Green Soap in my choice of scent! There are many wonderful scents, but I'm partial to clean scents so I chose the baby powder scent!The day I received it, I could smell it as soon as I opened my mailbox! It smelled soooo good!! I immediatly took it inside and put it to use. Rockin Green Soap's instruction state that first-time users should do a 30-60 minute soak in hot water with 3 tablespoons of detergent. WELLL I was never a very good listener and decided to just wash straight away. So when I took the first diaper off of Caden after using Rockin Green Soap, I was a lot of sad that I still had the stinkies!

I put the soap aside, and went about trying to fix the stinky problem. Then one Monday I was partaking in the Twitter cloth diaper chat and asked how to fix the problem. Kim happened to be on and asked if I had done a soak with the soap... which I sheepishly admitted I hadn't. She gave me the instructions once again, which this time I followed to a tee. AND GUESS WHAT?!?! No more stinkies!I now have been using it for a week or so, and couldn't be happier with it! I need to order some more, and now my biggest problem is what scent to try next!! Rockin Green Soap just launched some new fall scents. I'm dying to try the Pumpkin Crunch and Peppermint Cocoa!

My Opinion
First of all, let me start off by saying, "It was love at first site!"
I received two Thirsties Fab Fitted diapers with Duo Wrap Covers and hemp insers. When I opened the box, I wanted to put them on Caden right away! They are sooo cute! Even my mom (who is still refusing to CD) thought they were adorable! I love the bright colors with the white piping. Too bad they had to be prepped first!After I prepped them, they were put right to use! Actually the first time I ever used a fab fitted and duo wrap cover combined with a hemp insert was at night. I was terrified, because I had never CD'd at night before and all I ever heard on the CD forums I belong to is... "I can't find a good nighttime diaper." Well, you can imagine my suprise when I checked Caden in the morning and he was DRY!! That moment was when I realized that I could actually make this work for us.The Thirsties combo was my go-to night diaper for the first few months (I have since added pre-folds into the rotation), and is still one of my "I want to show of CBugs SUPER CUTE fluff butt" dipes!
I also love the fit of the combo, it's so trim! Actually it's probably one of the trimmest diapers we own! It's especially great right now with my MAXI-GROWER! (He refuses to stop growing for even a minute! hehe. :) ) This diaper fits under those "on-the-verge-of-being-to-small" pants!
