SANTA BABY: Kolcraft Stroller

Hello, my name is Cassidy and I have an addiction.
While it is NOT harmful to my health,
it is harmful on the wallet.
What is my addiction?

I am addicted to strollers.

I now have three... and my mother has one. :)
Mind you, they all have their purposes. My Joovy Kooper is lightweight for quick trips or small packing space. My Safety 1st travel system was great when CBug was a newborn... but now too bulky for everyday use. The newest one, Kolcraft's Contours® Options® 3 Wheeler, is my favorite
.
Caden has gotten to the size where he looks just plain silly in his travel system carseat attached to his stroller, but Mommy isn't ready to not be able to see him at all times :) I hated the thought of putting him in a forward facing stroller, but all the strollers that switch to face the handle are SOOO expensive. I couldn't afford to spend $500+ on one stroller.

Then I found the Kolcraft Contours® Options® 3 Wheeler. It was love at first site. It's seat switches to face me while I push him, it's not difficult to operate, and is definitely affordable! It even comes with an attachment for baby carriers! I wish that I had found this stroller BEFORE I got my travel system. It is beyond perfect.
(The handle height is great for both me (at 5'3) and my 6'0 husband!!)
(PS that's Marina from The Mommy Homemaker in the background! She's my IRL BFF!)

One thing that suprised me is how little this three wheeled stroller folds up compared to my travel system 3 wheeled stroller! One of the reasons that I traded in my VW Bug was that I had to put the stroller in the backseat with Caden, losing all my passenger room. I wish I had my Bug now to see if it would pass the test. The Kolcraft Contours® Options® 3 Wheeler almost folds up into a square. It's not long like most strollers. I can even fit the Joovy Kooper in my truck with the Kolcraft! (I now drive a 2008 Dodge Avenger<3 style="font-weight: bold;">
(lol, Caden's Monster costume filled out the bar!)

    SANTA BABY: Baby Harrill

Santa Baby's First Christmas List for Himself!
    Photobucket

Caden loves everything soft. Ok, well Caden doesn't care too terribly much yet, but Caden's MOMMY (<--- That's ME!!) loves every baby thing that is soft. Especially if it's greatly made and wonderfully adorable! Which is why I love Baby Harrill.

    bh_468x60

Baby Harrill offers bibs, laminate bibs, blankets, loveys, changing pads and burp clothes. Almost all of the products incorporate the gorgeous, soft minky fabric. Each item is designed and made with baby in mind, each piece is BEAUTIFUL. I especially love the Ahoy Matey Blanket, the Monkey Boy's Bib, and the Preppy Boy Burp Cloth!

Ahoy matey blanket-Monkey boy’s bib-Preppy Boy Burp Cloth-patchwork, baby, burp cloths, gifts, baby boy
    The story behind Baby Harrill:
"When I was pregnant with my second child and I couldn’t find the perfect cradle and crib bumper set, I decided to make my own. I used my sewing skills (thanks mom!) and the love of design and put together something that was unique. Everyone loved them! As I rocked my own “Baby Harrill”, I started to plan. I began making diaper bags, blankets, burp cloths, and I just kept going. I then was asked by friends to make something for their baby as well as gifts to give. I kept getting the same feedback “You need to start a business”. I felt my dream was coming together. I’m happy to say it has expanded from my rocking chair to an online boutique as well as fine retail boutiques near you."
    Green camo bib-
I received a Baby Harrill Minky Green Camo Bib for review purposes. First of all, it's ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. It is beautifully made, completely flawless. The minky is sooooo soft. I love it. The only fear I had when I first received it was weither or not it would absorb anything and everything I need it to :) It passed the Caden test with flying colors! It was hit with slobber, formular, and baby food... non soaked through or rolled off! I absolutely LOVE this bib, now the question is... Can I get a queen sized blanket?!?! hehe.

Check out Baby Harrill for all
of your baby Holiday shopping needs!

    Mr. Santa Baby Caden
definitely gives his stamp of approval!

    SANTA BABY:Celery Street

On Santa Baby's List of Gifts for Mom!
    Photobucket

I don't know about you all, but I've definitely jumped on the "Going Green" bandwagon since becoming a mom. I want the world to still be a great place when my children are grown :) I look for every opportunity that I can to help make the transition to becoming green, including lightbulbs, reusable grocery bags, and cloth diapers. As we come upon this Christmas season, I really stepped it up, and began looking for awesome Eco friendly gifts! That's how I found Celery Street!

Celery Street is an online store stocked with a TON of eco friendly products! "Enjoy our selection of eco-friendly, recycled, reused, and refurbished gifts, housewares, and other practical items. We are encouraged by all of the fun, chic, and even elegant earth-conscious items being created by our partners. They're better for the earth and therefore better for us!"

"Together we can learn, be more green, and make a difference in our world. Enjoy shopping on Celery Street!"

One pretty cool fact about Celery Street is that they actually have a store front in Indianapolis! Fort Wayne is only a couple of hours from Indy, and one of my good friends lives there, so I'm hoping to visit VERY soon!! I love the products they carry and would love to experience them in person. Some of my favorites include their journal selection, the EcoUsable Stainless Steel Water Bottle w/Wide Top and the Round Coal Gloss Recycled Glass Serving Bowl.

I received the Sonoma Lavender Recycled Cotton After Shower Wrap for review purposes.

"Imagine an entire field of lavender in full bloom tucked between the Mayacamas Mountains, vineyards, and the Pacific Ocean in California. Sonoma Lavender is a family owned business with a vision… a vision of pure organic lavender essential oil that heals and rejuvenates. Can you smell the calm? This same company has created a remarkable cotton knit made with breathable, ecologically-minded recycled yarns. It feels bumpy, soft, natural, and comforting next to your skin. This absorbent after shower wrap is pure “breathable” comfort. Cold water washable. One size fits most."

I absolutely LOVE it! I have wanted a shower wrap for a while now and am so excited to have this lovely, soft, amazing scented wrap. It's made of soft recycled cotton and scented with lavender essential oils. I can definitely see this wrap fitting a wide variaty of sizes as the velcro strips are pretty long. I also like the covereage it provides. It hits my leg at just the right length! All in all, I am extremely happy with the Sonoma Lavender Recycled Cotton After Shower Wrap and have definitely put it to use after each shower... OR BATH! :)

so im a little old fashioned as i hand wash and hang dry my diapers (hubby wont let me put diapers in washer or dryer) but i dont mind. In my opinion it keeps the elastics and snaps and color all better. To get rid of a pooey diapey I just rinse it off. my DD is strictly BF right now so its not a big deal.

SANTA BABY: Top Infant toys of 2009

As November is fastly fading into December, there is one thing on every mom's mind. Christmas Shopping. With only days until Christmas Eve, there is now pressure to find the perfect gifts, get them wrapped, and placed under the tree. (Or in the back of the closet until Santa arrives!) I've been personally scouring the ads, trying to find the BEST deals on the coolest infant toys. I only want the very best for my son's First Christmas!

OK I have to explain this last one!
I don't want you all thinking I just let Caden eat apple pie.

My mom watches Caden while I work. She had put him in his highchair next to the counter while she got his food ready. When she turned around, this is what she found. The pie had been sitting on the counter with a lid resting on top! What a goober monster lol.

    SANTA BABY: For Your Bugaboo

I love supporting WAHM businesses. Being a wanna-be SAHM I have such admiration for any mom who can make it all work-out. Especially if the business is Eco-minded. So when I came across For Your BUG-A-BOO it was love at first site!

" The goal of this business is to provide a selection of baby care products that are of high quality without many of the extra ingredients that may be harmful to our babies. I have searched for products such as non-toxic teethers, organic cotton layette, and 100% Natural baby wash and diaper creams to name just a few. The products that are sold include products that we have used on our own son as well as some products that we switched to after learning more about what is in many baby care products."

I love all of the products that For Your BUG-A-BOO offers! They carry products from brands such as HALO, Klean Kanteen, Imse Vimse, ImagiPLAY and more! I especially love the variety of products that there is. You can find teething items, feeding items, clothing, jewelery, toys, and more.

I received a few items from For Your BUG-A-BOO. I received the Noli n Nali Chamomile Willow Baby Shampoo ($11.95), Ella Bella Bubble Bath & Bodywash ($5.50), and Strawberry Fruit Knit Rattle ($9.50)!

    The Strawberry Fruit Knit Rattle:
" The inviting texture and bright colors of these rattles makes them fun for baby and older kids too! They are hand knitted in Bangladesh with cotton that is free of heavy metals and polyester filled. They range from approximately 3 ½ to 4 inches in size and are machine washable. Available in 5 different designs.
This knit toy is from Yellow Label Kids and contains no heavy-metals. They are made by hand by an artisan who is paid living wages, in accordance with Fair Trade practices; and complies with CE safety standards."

This Rattle is absolutely adorable! Caden love to grab onto it and shake it all about. It's also just the right size that he can pass it between his hands. It is flawless in design and stitch and looks good enough to eat!

Noli n Nali Chamomile Willow Shampoo: Ella Bella Bubble Bath & Bodywash:
" This is a great shampoo for babies and toddlers that can also be used as a whole body wash. I have been using this on my own son and I love it; it lathers nicely, rinses easily and leaves his hair squeaky clean. I even use it to wash my own face! It does not contain any harsh chemicals; and is gentle and fortifying. Made with organic green tea and lavender. 74% Organic and 100% Natural."

" Ella Bella Bubble Bath produces light and lovely bubbles in an organic aloe base. Gently cleanses and leaves skin feeling soft. Infused with a hint of orange and vanilla to make bathtime fun."

The first thing I noticed about the shampoo and the bodywash is that they smells absolutely DELISH! It's both subtle but still noticable. The shampoo produced a good lather so you only need a tiny squirt! I use it mainly on Cadens hair, so that I can savor this bottle. It leaves his hair so silky smooth. I am definitely in love with these products.

Not only did I receive these awesome products but one lucky reader will get a chance to try them out for themselve!

    SANTA BABY: Sprout Baby Food

    Photobucket
I thought that since Santa Baby's 1st Christmas begins today,
    the week of Thanksgiving,
I'd kick it off with a baby food review and giveaway!

Here we are, adults, able to eat all of the yummy Holiday foods, while our babies get the same old, everyday flavors they're so used to. Well, those are the ways of the past! I'd like to introduce Sprout Baby Food! With flavors like Roasted Pears & Apricots, Oatmeal with Roasted Cinnamin Applesauce, and Baked Sweet Potatoes & White Beans no baby will eye our "adult" food with envy ever again!

A little about Sprout from it's co-founder Tyler Florence:
"My wife Tolan and I want our children to eat food that is wholesome and delicious, but like most parents, we have careers and busy lives. So as a father, I'm always thinking about what I want my children to eat and how I can treat them to the healthy and delicious meals they deserve...even when time is an issue.

My longtime friend Max and I put our heads together to try and create a new food product for babies that would help parents make easy and smart decisions for their children. We looked at everything from the packaging and presentation to how the food was cooked and of course, the ingredients themselves. As a chef, I focused on complimentary food combinations and ways to cook them to bring out all of the gorgeous natural flavors inside. With thousands more taste buds than even adults have, babies love great taste. And with Sprout, we are determined to give them the flavors they crave.

Sprout Baby Food is the result of many years of research, development and most importantly, fatherhood. And I know that you and your baby will agree that my love of food and flavor comes through in every delicious bite."
We received a few pouches of Sprout Baby Food for review purposes. Our pouches included the Baked Sweet Potatoes & White Beans, Summer Squash Yukon Gold Potatoes & Parmesan, and Roasted Bananas & Brown Rice, among a few others.

We broke them out for Caden to eat right away. Who could resist the immediate temptation when they even sounded better than our own dinner? Caden loved every single package of Sprout Baby Food we tried. He practically inhaled them! One package of food was definitely a meal sized serving. The only thing that I disliked was how hard it was to get the baby food out of the corners of the package. When you have a whiney hungry baby "yelling" at you, it's kind of an annoyance to have to dig around to fill the spoon. On the other hand, the package is PERFECT for traveling or use while out and about. I loved that I didn't have to worry about a jar breaking and that I could reseal it if it was not all used.
Overall I really enjoyed my Sprout Baby Food experience
and look forward to using their baby food often in the future!
